Who is Dave Henderson, and how can he help me?

My journey to financial planning started early, shaped by personal experiences that revealed the profound impact money can have on a person's life. These lessons, from watching my family struggle financially to personally learning about the impact of poor financial decisions, motivate me to this day.
Growing up, my mother worked two jobs just to make ends meet, and the stress was visible every day. When she inherited money after my grandfather's passing, it was a lifeline — but without the right financial advice, it was gone too soon, bringing back the stress and uncertainty. That experience left a lasting impression on me. I saw firsthand how a lack of financial direction could rob someone of their peace and, ultimately, their health.

Another pivotal moment came in high school economics class when I learned about Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). The idea of saving and growing money toward a million-dollar retirement seemed unbelievable for someone with my background. I eagerly opened my own IRA, only to drain it a few months later when my Camaro needed new tires. That bad decision taught me early on about the challenges of financial discipline and planning — lessons that I now help my clients navigate.

I learned a lot about money and how it works in my early years and some of the experiences were painful. Inspired by these early lessons I decided to enter the financial services industry so I could help others avoid the stress and mistakes I witnessed.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), I bring both the professional expertise and personal empathy needed to help my clients succeed financially and live the retirements they dreamed of.

On a personal note…
I’m blessed to have been married to my wonderful wife Kristi for over 25 years. Together, we have a daughter, a fantastic son-in-law, and two grandsons we get to spoil. We are both Colorado natives, and we live in SE Aurora with our Labradoodle Landry who is also spoiled. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy golfing, biking, hiking, and relaxing with a good micro-brew or glass of red wine. Above all, I value faith, family, and spending quality time with friends.
