Mike Akins

Mike serves as the Investment Committee Chair for the Western Select portfolios. Before this role, he was a Financial Advisor for over 20 years, supporting his clients’ needs in investment management, financial planning, insurance, and residential mortgages.

He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester (NY) and his MBA from the University of Michigan. He worked in the automotive industry for 15 years as an Engineer and Program Manager.

Mike is actively involved in his community. He currently serves as the Toastmasters District 26 Club Growth Director with nearly 200 clubs in CO and WY; a former Superior Chamber of Commerce President and Treasurer; youth football coach; church treasurer; and golf league board member.

Mike and his wife Tricia live in Larkspur, Colorado. He enjoys golf, skiing, table tennis, and red wine.
